Catrina Allen was inches away from forcing extra holes at the Las Vegas Challenge but instead had to settle for a close second while shooting the hot round on the final day.

Allen tossed a bogey-free 8-under par in the finale, parking a third of the holes, to try and chase down the win. It came down to the 18th hole, a 720-foot par-5 with danger all over. She played clean off the tee, but her second shot missed swinging back in bounds by mere inches, leaving her just one throw short.

Allen pulled away from the rest of the field with her 24-under 241 total, finishing 16 strokes ahead of third. She shot all four rounds under par and added another hot score in the second round, while leading in Fairway Hits and Circle 2 in Regulation for the weekend. Allen also deftly navigated the wind with least amount of out of bounds strokes.

Kevin Jones made a move of his own on the final day, jumping seven spots into a seventh place tie. Jones was just one stroke shy of the hot round in hunting down the top 10 finish. He laid down an unblemished 12-under par and feasted on the course after taking pars on each of the first four holes with nine birdies in the next 10 holes.

It was a balanced event for Jones, as he flashed prowess off the tee and on the green to finish with a 35-under 209 over the four rounds. He was tied for second in Circle 2 in Regulation and tied for third in Circle 1x putting.

Thomas Gilbert's Prodigy debut ended in a top 15 finish, as he moved up six spots in round four to finish 15th. He overcame a bogey and a double bogey back-to-back to shoot 8-under for the day and 28-under for the event.

Cale Leiviska tied for a 21st place finish at 24-under. Leiviska started his event with a bang by carding an ace on the very first hole of his tournament, dropping an A3 right into the chains.
