Stronger than I thought and very light

I wasn’t sure if the bottom of this backpack would hold up to ground scrape but it is doing just fine. It feels very light and holds enough discs for most courses.

Decent little bag

Pros: High quality materials and zippers. Comfortably fits 2 putters, 2 mids, and 10 drivers/fairways in the main compartment. Easy to get discs in and out of the main pocket. One side pocket is an insulated drink holder with a thoughtful divider. Other pocket is a large versatile pocket that can hold a 32 ounce bottle with room to spare. Deep hidden pockets on the side for retrievers and umbrellas. This is subjective but I think it’s one of the nicest looking bags on the market and has a nice selection of color ways. Velcro patch on the front is a nice touch for customization. I was looking for a “Bigfoot” like bag, but without the ridiculous size and capacity. This mostly fits that slot perfectly with some frustratingly weird oversights.

Cons: The biggest con is the putter pocket is just too small. I’m hoping it’ll stretch more but you can hardly get two putters in there and getting them out is annoying. Because the putter pocket is so small, the two phone sized pockets on either side become really tight and I can barely get an iPhone 13 in there. Anything bigger will not fit. Mini holder is also pretty tight. Huge oversight - no D rings for hanging towels or whale sacks from. The bag also came with two small rectangular dividers that don’t seem to really fit anywhere specifically and there were no instructions included nor online as to what to do with these.

For the price I’m pretty happy with the bag overall and I’ll work around the few shortcomings. I’m betting the 2.0 version will be a little closer to perfect if prodigy takes some of these criticisms to heart.

Too little info

My APEX bag is beautiful and such a great size. It came with a few pieces I don’t even know how to use that maybe are supposed to go in the side pockets, but they don’t fit. The main compartment is more spacious front to back than needed for discs, to allow for a full 1.5 liter hydration pouch that can be inserted in the back. This forces your mids to the outer spots. There is nowhere to hang keys or towels. There isn’t a pocket that fits my iPhone securely that is also easy to get out. The tall pockets for presumably retrievers and umbrellas bulge out when used reduce the flatness of the side stiffeners, reduce the carrying capacity of the side pockets…

Nearly there!

This bag has the potential to be one of the best in it's class. It's got everything I need to carry my go-to discs for the circuit of courses I play. I bought this as a companion to my larger "tournament-style" bag that I don't think I'll be carrying for casual rounds ever again. The construction and materials feel great, I have no complaints in that department. The product photos here don't show you the options of storage in the bag. There's are two stash pockets in the top/putter pocket and zippered pocket for a bladder or other valuables if you choose. I have to say the overall feel of most of the storage is exceptionally tight. It's hard to easily access the two side zipper pockets and I have to use two hands and fight to get things out of them. If you choose to use the top pocket for putters it will do really well with 2 discs, but because it's a bit undersized for discs(~7.5 inches) it starts to bow out the side panels when you step it up to 3 discs which gives it some friction trying to get discs in and out. My main feedback for this bag would be that it needs a little extra space in the top side zipper pockets and maybe make the bag .25-.5 inches wider. Overall, I'm still very happy with the bag and would by it again as is. A few adjustments and I think it would be near perfect as a casual round bag. If you want want to read a 1,700+ word review of this bag I left one over on reddit. Just search for "One Round Review: Prodigy Apex" on r/discgolf.
