With both calling the same area in southern Alabama home, it's likely any local tournament was the latest site for Matt Orum and Cameron Colglazier to be locked in a tight battle for a win.
The Southside Smackdown 16 in Eight Mile certainly fit the bill, and this time, it was Orum coming out on top by merely a stroke. He took the advantage in Round One by shooting the hot score to put himself in front by three.
Colglazier made a strong comeback bid in the second round, running out of the gate with seven straight birdies to start the round.Ultimately, he claimed the second round hot score to shave two strokes off the deficit, but Orum birdied his last two holes to lock down the top spot.
Orum tossed a 19-under par 89 total to finish one up on Colglazier in their latest back and forth battle. It marked Orum's second win of the year, and the pair has finished first and second in four events this year.
Andrew Montgomery joined his teammates on the podium to give Prodigy the top three spots. Montgomery started the round one stroke off of third place but move himself into solo third with his second round effort.
Dutch Napier picked up a win of the doubles variety at Fling-A-Thing Pro-Am Doubles in Brandenburg, Ky. Napier and his partner shot a 43-under 121 total to win by five. They collected four of those shots in the first round and finished with the best score in each round.
Brent Waters also brought home a win in Grand Forks, N.D., at the 3rd Annual Half Brothers Open. Waters shot a 19-under 152 total over three rounds to fend off a pair of challengers and win by one throw over two players tied for second.
