Top Flight: Prodigy Dominating Around The World In 2023
Prodigy Disc Team Players in 2023 (Through August)
Most Combined MPO Disc Golf Pro Tour/Major Wins (8)
First Canadian Player to Win on Disc Golf Pro Tour (Chantel Budinsky, AFDO)
Most Combined FPO/MPO Wins on DGPT, EPT, EuroTour, Majors (20)
Prodigy Disc introduced our first drivers to market in 2013, and alongside the groundbreaking discs we rolled out a robust roster of players that changed the landscape of professional disc golf.
Results on the course were immediate and have carried on through our first decade in business. As the professionals challenge for the 2023 PDGA Professional World Championship in Vermont this week, Team Prodigy has already set a high standard with its domination up to this point of the year.
Trusted by Major Champions
Led by Gannon Buhr's incredible season, Prodigy Disc has more combined MPO wins on the Disc Golf Pro Tour and Major championships so far in 2023 than any other disc golf manufacturer. Gannon has five victories on tour (2 Elite events, 3 Silver), Isaac Robinson won the first Major of the year at Champions Cup, and Parker Welck and Ezra Robinson both earned their first career DGPT victories at an Elite and Silver event, respectively.
The strong finishes see Gannon and Isaac in the top three of DGPT Points standings, and three other MPO players are in the top 20 - Ezra Robinson (11th), Kevin Jones (16th), and Alden Harris (20th). Between those five players, Prodigy team members have combined for 43 top 10 MPO finishes across all competitions in 2023, also more than any other manufacturer.
While the FPO results overall have not been as favorable on the DGPT, Chantel Budinsky’s victory at the 50th American Flying Disc Open in August marked the first time a Canadian player has won a DGPT event in either the MPO or FPO division.

Known & Thrown Around The Globe
Prodigy is a global disc golf company, with our Finland-based Prodigy Europe team also hosting tours and sponsoring European players. When expanding the scope of results to include the European Pro Tour, PDGA EuroTour, and Prodigy Disc Pro Tour, Prodigy’s complete influence is on full display.
So far in 2023, Prodigy players have 20 combined victories in the MPO and FPO divisions at Majors, and on the DGPT and premier European tours, six more wins than any other manufacturer.
Estonian MPO player Mauri Villmann has had a breakout season, winning four European events and earning an invite to the 2023 United States Disc Golf Championship. Mauri’s FPO countrymate, Kaidi Allsalu, added a win to the overall total too. Finland’s Teemu Talikainen (MPO) and Jenni Karppinen (FPO) each had a victory, and Scotland’s Rachel Turton raked in three total European wins in between a trip to the U.S.
It wasn’t only Europeans winning on other continents. Luke Humphries nabbed himself an EPT trophy by winning the Järva Open. And we should always note Japan’s Manuabu Kajiyama, who was once again the highest-rated player in the world by reaching a 1056 PDGA Player Rating.
Where The Disc Golf Rankings Stand
Depending on who you ask, you’ll get a different answer for the best player in disc golf. Right now, though, Gannon Buhr and Isaac Robinson both have a pretty good argument. Currently, the duo sit 1-2 in the overall season PDGA Points race, with Gannon holding a slight edge.
The Disc Golf World Rankings Powered by UDisc rely on a Dominance Index and currently rank Gannon fourth and Isaac eighth. The StatMando Official Rankings are judged over a 24 month period and have Gannon second and Isaac fifth.
Notable events remaining on the disc golf calendar after Pro Worlds include the United States Women's Disc Golf Championship, United States Disc Golf Championship, Throw Pink Women's Disc Golf Championship, Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship, and MVP Open.
Gannon Buhr is the reigning U.S. Disc Golf Champion after becoming the youngest player to ever win the Major last season. Isaac Robinson also finished last year strong by taking the DGPT Championship to a playoff and finishing second. Any way you shake it, the consistent quality on display from Gannon, Isaac, and the entire Prodigy team is incomparable at the moment.
