This year’s Ledgestone Insurance Open served as more than the latest stop on the Disc Golf Pro Tour, as Peoria, Ill., will also be the site of this year’s Professional World Championships. Both Catrina Allen (2nd) and Kevin Jones (3rd) fared well in their respective divisions.

Allen continued to light up the course, shooting her eighth 1000-rated round and second course record of the year during the tournament’s second round. She had a one stroke lead going into the round and then posted an 11-under par 49 to stay out front.

Her 23-under 157 three round total ultimately didn’t net the win, but Allen continued a season long trend of being squarely in the mix for hardware. She’s now played 13 tournaments and finished lower than second just once.

Kevin Jones also took a podium spot with his 23-under 166 total in Open. Like Allen, his best handiwork came in the second round, when he tossed a 12-under 51 to garner a 1091 rating. He birdied 10 of his last 12 holes during the round and jumped 12 spots onto the lead card. Another solid showing in round three with a bogey-free 9-under 54 kept him far out of reach for the fourth place competitor.

Matt Orum, Chris Dickerson, and Cale Leiviska tallied top-25 finishes over the weekend. Orum finished in 15th, Dickerson in 19th place tie and Leiviska in a 21st place tie.

Billy Ray Osborn meanwhile triumphed on the amateur side of the event. Osborn averaged 19 points above his rating to win the Amateur Masters 50+ Division. It was his seventh win of the year and third so far at an A-Tier. He bested the field with an even-par 173.

Gannon Buhr tied for eighth in Advanced.

Sam Shiley defended his title at the Brent Anderson Memorial in Leesburg, Va., with a 5-under 58 in the one round event.  John Biscoe tied for first in Pro Masters 50+.

Jacob Henson grabbed his second win of the year at the 2019 Summer Sizzler in Columbus, Miss., and Josh Seeley took first in the Maine Players Tour unsanctioned event at Woodland Valley.
