Paul Ulibarri was able to navigate the tight lines and treacherous out of bounds at The MVP Open at Maple Hill turning in a steady performance to finish in a tie for fifth. It was the final Disc Golf Pro Tour Event before the Tour Championship.

Ulibarri climbed two spots on the final day in Leicester, Mass., going bogey-free until the last hole to finish with a 14-under par 163 over three rounds. He avoided the rollercoaster of Maple Hill and shot two rounds rated above 1050 to finish the event.

Matt Orum and Cameron Colglazier were four strokes back in a tie for 13th place. Like Ulibarri, Orum kept a steady ship as all three of his scores were within one stroke of each other. Colglazier had a highlight 1076-rated second round to help overcome a slow start in the first round.

Chris Dickerson finished in a tie for 15th place with a 9-under par 168 and moved up five spots the last day. Catrina Allen finished ninth in Open Women, shooting a 7-over par 190.

Dan Hastings won his first career A-Tier at The Carolina Clash in Charlotte, N.C. He posted a 36-under par 196 over two days and four rounds to secure the win by three.

Hastings was five strokes off the lead after round two but roared back in round three. He got six strokes back to take the lead and picked up two more in the last round. Lance Brown took fourth with a 29-under par 203.

Team Prodigy also got a couple of wins out West. Dallas Albright took down the Humboldt Summer Classic in Fieldbrook, Calif. He broke a tie for first in the third and final round, shooting the hot score. Albright won with a 25-under par 181.

Jared Person added a win in Athol, Idaho at the Farragut Warmup. Person tossed at least a share of the hot score in both rounds to finish at a 4-under par 112 for two rounds.

Jesse Kirk and Jeremy Farnsworth battled it out at the Goose Poop Open in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. With one round down, Farnsworth was two strokes off the pace while Kirk was on the third card, five strokes out of first. The pair ended up in a tie for first with matching 18-under par 96s and took it to a playoff where Kirk emerged the winner.

Daniel Polk came ready to rumble in Aberdeen, S.D., at the 7th Annual Richmond Rumble. Polk won by six throws, tossing a 32-under par 187 in three rounds and a final nine. He posted the low score in rounds two and three. He was able to go into the finals with a cushion and close out the win.

Ben Page won the inaugural Josie’s Journey Open in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. His 1031-rated second round jumped him from fifth to first, erasing a three-stroke deficit. He finished with a 17-under par 91.

It was a strong weekend on the amateur side, as three teammates took wins in three different divisions. Billy Ray Osborn won the Amateur Masters 40+ title at the 2018 Indiana State Championships in Nashville, Ind. Osborn shot a 4-under par 214 over three rounds to win by six throws. Sam Lee took second in Open Men.

Junior Gannon Buhr picked up his fifth Advanced win of the year in convincing fashion. Buhr toppled the competition by five throws at The Des Moines Open in Iowa. He finished with a 19-under par 122 over two rounds.

In Ruidoso, N.M, Kolby Sanchez, another young gun, got his first Intermediate win. Sanchez topped his field with a 16-under par 146, which was five strokes clear of second in the two-round event. Marcos Castillo finished ninth in Open Men.

In unsanctioned action, Patrick Christie got an 11 stroke win at the IFalls Bass Championships, and Bobby Jones brought home the Can-Am Cup along with his team. Jones finished 8-1 in match play at the event in New York.
