WEEKEND ROUNDUP: DICKERSON, BYGDE GRAB CONVINCING WINS

Chris Dickerson tuned up for this weekend’s Jonesboro Open with a win seven stroke win at The Iron Pig. He totaled a 21-under par 95 over two rounds at the Harriman, Tenn., event.
Dickerson opened with a 1040-rated effort, and also had the low score in the second round to add onto his lead. It marked his seventh win of the young season, and he has yet to finish outside of third on the year. He will face his biggest test so far at the next Disc Golf Pro Tour event starting Friday.
Brandon Brown continued his strong play to start the year, finishing fourth at the event. Brown has one win under his belt while finishing outside of the top-5 twice and outside of the top-10 just once.
Ragna Bygde snagged her second win in as many events at the Furious Squirrel in Albion, Mich. Bygde showed little rust for her first event since February, posting the hot score in both rounds. She averaged nearly 17 points above her rating on the way to an 8-under par 110 total and a five stroke win.
Donny Ferguson shone at the 2nd Annual Spring Thyme Open in Baileys Harbor, Wis., averaging a whopping 47.5 points above his rating in a six stroke win. He shot a 16-under 92 over two rounds. The win marked his second in a row.
Dawson Snelling started his 2019 season with a bang in Bettendorf, Iowa, at the Sunrise Showdown Singles. Snelling tossed a 1033-rated first round and won with a 16-under 106 total.
Bobby Jones repeated at Surprise of the Fools in the Pro Masters 50+ Division. Jones shot an 11-under par 189 over three rounds in Bath, N.Y., to claim the top spot two years in a row. He paced the field by 11.
Sam Castiglione had an eighth place finish in Open.
Gannon Buhr won Advanced in Oskaloosa, Iowa at the 2019 OPC Open. Buhr took it in a runaway by 12 strokes after an 18-under 100 total over two rounds. The young gun nearly averaged 1000 rated golf in the top amateur division in his rout.
Core Team Strong at A-Tiers
Matt Orum and Cameron Colglazier each grabbed top-5 finishes at The 2019 Open at Tallahassee, and each made appearances on the lead card throughout the weekend. Orum’s 28-under 197 put him in third while Colglazier finished in a tie for fifth.
Catrina Allen finished in a close second at the Nick Hyde Memorial, just one stroke out of first. Allen posted a 2-over par 166 at the weather-shortened event.
Kevin Jones also had a second place finish at The Vintage Open in Russellville, Ark., highlighted by a 1057-rated opening round.
Colglazier will be the only one of the four not competing at the Jonesboro Open.
