The wait is over, and speculation can be put to rest. Kevin Jones is a member of Team Prodigy. Jones signed a 3-year deal this offseason that will keep him on the road full-time as he looks to take the next step in his career.

“The possibility of being able to take a company that’s on the edge of doing something huge and working to push it to that next level is very exciting,” Jones said. “I’m also excited to have a fully supply of discs available and work with guys like Seppo [Paju], Chris [Dickerson] and Cale [Leiviska].

“Working alongside them is going to be an honor for me. They’re awesome people I want to be like on and off the course.”

Jones got his start with Prodiscus two years ago after a brief stint as a college kicker in football and garnered a wave of attention with an appearance on the lead card at the 2017 United States Disc Golf Championship.

He followed that up with four A-Tier wins, a top-10 finish at the World Championships and a third-place finish at USDGC in 2018.

“It was cool to have such a big rumble after the 2017 USDGC — it turned a lot of heads,” Jones said. “I knew that couldn’t be the end. It was just the beginning of proving myself. I took it into next year and to go all the way into the next USDGC finishing third with a chance to win it was the most satisfying thing I could have done.”

Jones’ rating has shot up 52 points since January 2017, and he now sits ranked No. 4 in the world, joining five other Prodigy players in the top-15 of the latest PDGA World Rankings.

Being on the brink of both a Disc Golf Pro Tour and Major win in 2018, Jones said the main goal for next year is to bring home a signature win from the National Tour or DGPT circuit.

His offseason plans include time off to travel before hitting the road for the 2019 season.

“I’m excited for the travel arrangements,” Jones said. “I’ll be in a camper with some media going on.”

Jones is scheduled to make his season debut at the Las Vegas Challenge, the year’s first National Tour.
