Chris Dickerson landed a 420-foot ace and posted the tied the hot score in the final round, finishing just one stroke shy of forcing a three-way playoff at the Hall of Fame Classic. Catrina Allen also had a 3rd place finish in FPO, and while she missed out on defending her Hall of Fame Classic title, she won the season long National Tour Series Championship for the fourth time in her career.
Cale Leiviska claimed his second consecutive King of the North crown, winning the Biwabik, Minn., event by two. Catrina Allen finished sixth at the 2019 United States Women’s Disc Golf Championships in Spotsylvania, Va. She posted an 8-under 183 over three rounds during the Major, and was masterful in accessing the greens all weekend.
Väinö Mäkelä’s second stint in the States this year has been a successful venture for the Finnish star. Mäkelä again played himself into the top-10 at the MVP Open at Maple Hill, a Disc Golf Pro Tour event. Catrina Allen continued her strong season in Open Women, taking a fourth place finish with a 1-under 182 and shooting another 1000-rated round.
Catrina Allen has taken a commanding lead in the National Tour points standings, stretching her lead out to 30 points after a win at the Delaware Disc Golf Challenge. Allen’s triumph in Newark marks her third NT win of the year. Väinö Mäkelä continued his impressive showing stateside, finishing in a tie for ninth with an 11-under 196.
