400 Plastic is a premium blend of materials that is extremely durable and gives the thrower an impeccable grip, even when it is wet. It is the most popular Prodigy plastic across the entire lineup of discs. While 400 Plastic is often known for its translucent properties, which catch the sunlight well for pronounced colors in the daytime, it can also be more opaque. 400 plastic has a stiff rim and more “pop” when you flex the center of the disc.

If you have a smaller arm, this is a great disc to bomb with. Straight to stable out of the box, and will get some turn as it starts to wear in. I can push mine really straight for about 300ish feet before it starts to softly fade out to around 350. The 400 plastic is amazing with a grippy and slightly gummy feel.
Little more flippy than I wanted but overall great disc. Flies quite far put on a slight angle.
The only distance driver in my bag. Great quality.
The only distance driver in my bag. Great quality.
Let me start by saying I love the feel of this disc. If you're newer to the sport any disc over an 11 speed won't fly the way it was intended. That being said I can crank this disc on a massive anhyzer forehand and it will have a great flight until it violently fades into the ground. I like this disc for long downhill holes where the flight can really play out. If you aren't an advanced speed thrower maybe go with the FX4 before this .
Really nice edge, and dome shape. Love this disc! Nice glide to it.
400 plastic is the perfect driver plastic. Gummy, yet durable. It was a little more stable than I thought it was going to be, granted I don’t have much more than 420 ft of power. Stays on the line you put it and will even fight a little bit of wind.
So I've heard rumbles that Prodigy re-tooled some of their D series drivers to make them, essentially, more stable. I've noticed the difference in the D2, and I thought I'd try a D3. Wow.
These new 400 D3s are the first disc that I've been able to consistently push over 470 (twice over 500'!!!) on flat ground, no wind. They just go. Yeah, they're a bit on the stable side compared to what I would have EXPECTED, but they're beating up nicely to be crazy long. I've got 3 400 D3s, 1 400G, 1 750G and the 400 are the longest ones.
Excellent disc. I'll throw a new one into a stiff headwind, but not my beat-in one. 400G/750G are headwind fighters with great distance potential.
This run felt slightly more stable than it should’ve been. Thought I’d get better turn out of this than my D2 but just the opposite. Great disc just a different flight from what I expected
I carry a couple 400 D3s (some X-Out, some stock stamp). These are my absolute max distance discs. The rim feel is GREAT, like I really feel confident throwing these BH or FH. I can't throw FULL BORE because I'm worried about turning it over with BH. With FH, I have to be intentional about not over-snapping it on the release. Basically, the disc comes out FAST and glides FAR with good form and 85% power. The only negative I can think of...this, for me, is NOT a woods disc. This disc needs room to do what it does. It needs lateral room to turn right, glide, fade left and finish forward. In an open field or a course where you have room to let this thing out of the bag, it'll give you some monster distance. The ones I have are a little domey, so the glide is unreal and it shows. The first 1/3 of the flight is pure speed out of my hand....I mean this disc comes out with tons of speed. The middle 1/3 of the flight is pure glide, like a paper airplane just floating. The last 1/3 of the flight is this thing fighting forward like a running back trying to get every inch it can. Sure, I throw D1, D2, X3 for shots where a turnover is BAD...but when I have room to just unload a bomb, this is my go-to. In the attached video, I get my daughter to film a 400 D3 forehand. With a slight wrist flick and getting the nose up into the wind....it still flies about 285'. Great job Prodigy. I have many of these and look forward to throwing each and every one.
