Heather Young's icy putt on Hole 17 at the Mid America Open helped seal her first career Disc Golf Pro Tour Silver Series win in a tightly contested event.

Young solidified her position on the lead card after an even-par first round that tied her for first. After round two, she was just one off the pace, and made the most of her opportunity in the final round.

She was the only FPO player to go bogey free through the front nine, and back to back birdies on holes 9 and 10 gave her the outright lead. With a one stroke lead on hole 17, she left her upshot to the green just outside of Circle 1. She took a long look at the downhill putt and converted it to maintain her lead going into the final hole.

After a short drive, she parked her approach under the basket for a tap-in to seal the win. Young's long putt on 17 capped off a masterful performance on the green, gaining 12.47 strokes on the field in putting. She putted at an 88 percent clip for the event, including 100 percent during the final round, and 32 percent from Circle 2. Both led the field.

Chris Dickerson was nipping at the heels of a win on the MPO side, as well, but ultimately settled into a tie for second.

Matt Orum Goes Low to Win Bowling Green Open

Matt Orum incinerated the final round of the Bowling Green Open to the tune of a 1072-rated 14-under that closed a four stroke gap and landed him a one stroke triumph.

That solidified Orum's first A-Tier and fifth total win of the year. He picked up nine birdies and an eagle in his first 12 holes and then grabbed a necessary three more to finish his round on 16 through 18. His birdie on 17 ended up being the difference, picking up the winning margin over second place there.

Justin Bunnell, Sam Lee, and G.T. Hancock all added top 10 finishes.
